The woman becomes queen, but one year later, after she has her first child, the mysterious man reappears to kidnap the infant. When the king promises to make the woman his queen if she can spin gold one more time, the penniless woman reluctantly promises the tiny man her first born child.
The tiny man miraculously spins straw into strings of gold on two occasions, in exchange for jewelry. Unable to make riches from straw, the sobbing young woman is surprised by a visit from a tiny man who claims to be able to perform the magical feat.
This tale concerns a poor woman whose father promises the king that his daughter can spin straw into gold, and the king demands that she perform this magical feat or else she will perish.
